Activated Carbon, and other adsorbent materials, are expensive and must be replaced frequently when used to adsorb odours. The higher the odour and H2S concentration in a emission, the more frequently the carbon media needs to be replaced and disposed.
SULPHACTUS allows the biological section (SULPHUS) of the reactor to remove almost all of the odours before the air reaches the second final polishing stage. Hereby hardly any H2S reaches the activated carbon, consequently the life time of the carbon media is greatly extended which result in a huge reduction of operating cost.
